Healthy Relationships: More Listening, Fewer Expectations

Healthy Relationships: More Listening, Fewer Expectations

The relationships that nourish us aren’t perfect — they’re real. That means letting go of the idea that someone else has to “complete” us, and learning to approach others with more empathy and fewer expectations.

Listening without interrupting, validating someone’s feelings without minimizing them, knowing how to say sorry, and also how to set boundaries — all of these build strong, healthy connections. It’s not about agreeing on everything, but about being able to talk even when we don’t.

When we stop idealizing others and start showing up honestly, we create space for genuine connection. Because in the end, the best relationships aren’t the ones without problems — they’re the ones that know how to work through them together.
