World Recipe: Pho

Pho is a rice noodle soup with aromatic broth and meat. It originated in the 20th century in northern Vietnam and has become an emblem of the country.

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of beef broth
  • 200 g rice noodles
  • 200 g of thinly sliced beef
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anises
  • Bean sprouts, cilantro, and lime for serving

Preparation:

  • Boil the broth with ginger, cinnamon, and star anise for 30 minutes.
  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions.
  • Serve the noodles in a bowl and place the raw beef on top.
  • Pour the hot broth over the noodles and beef, then add the accompaniments.
